...[+++]nuary 2002 for the first time, to a review of the maximum levels with the overall objective of reducing the said levels.

Op basis van de resultaten van de door de lidstaten verrichte controles op de inachtneming van de in bijlage I, deel 1, van vastgestelde maximumgehalten, de verslagen met betrekking tot de toepassing en de verbetering van de goede landbouwpraktijken om de nitraatgehalten te verlagen en de evaluatie van de gegevens waarop de lidstaten hun goede landbouwpraktijken hebben gebaseerd, dient de Commissie om de vijf jaar, en voor het eerst vóór 1 januari 2002, de maximumgehalten opnieuw te bezien met als uiteindelijk doel het verlagen van die gehalten.
