Urges the EU, while coordinating with other donors, to exercise strong leadership and take rapid action in order to prevent the crisis in the Sahel region from becoming a catastrophe, as the humanitarian situation in the region is expected to remain critical until at least the main harvest this autumn;
12. dringt er bij de EU op aan om bij de coördinatie met andere donoren sterk leiderschap te tonen en snel op te treden om te voorkomen dat de crisis in het Sahelgebied een ramp wordt, nu de humanitaire situatie in de regio naar verwachting op zijn minst kritiek zal blijven tot de belangrijkste oogst komend najaar;
