1. In the event of a technical failure of non-functioning of the satellite-tracking device fitted on board a third-country fishing vessel during the time it is in Community waters, the master or the owner of the vessel or their representative shall communicate every two hours, and each time the vessel moves from one ICES division to another, the up-to-date current geographical position of the vessel by e-mail, by telex, by fax, by telephone messages or by radio.

Wanneer de satellietvolgapparatuur die is geïnstalleerd aan boord van een vissersvaartuig van een derde land, defect is of anderszins niet functioneert wanneer het zich in communautaire wateren bevindt, deelt de kapitein of de eigenaar van het vaartuig of hun vertegenwoordiger eenmaal per twee uur en telkens wanneer het vaartuig zich van een ICES-sector naar een andere verplaatst, per e-mail, telex, fax, telefoon of radio, de geografische positie van het vaartuig op dat tijdstip mee.
