[ii] According to the CRC children are not only (real or potential) victims in need of protection but they also have rights that are clearly set out in the CRC: the promotion of the best interests of the child (Art. 3), the non-discrimination principle (Art. 2), the right to participate (Art. 12), the right to survival and development (Art. 6).
[ii] Volgens het VRK zijn kinderen niet alleen (echte of potentiële) slachtoffers die nood hebben aan bescherming, maar ook personen die rechten hebben, die duidelijk in het VRK zijn uiteengezet: de bevordering van de belangen van het kind (art. 3), het beginsel van non-discriminatie (art. 2), het recht op overleven en ontwikkeling (art. 6).
