In choosing representative sample(s) the notified body shall take into account the novelty of the technology, similarities in design, technology, manufacturing and sterilisation methods, the intended use and the results of any previous relevant assessments (e.g. with regard to physical, chemical or biological properties) that have been carried out in accordance with this Directive.
Bij het kiezen van een representatief monster of representatieve monsters houdt de aangemelde instantie rekening met de vraag in hoeverre de techniek nieuw is, of het ontwerp gelijkenis vertoont met andere ontwerpen, technologie, vervaardigings- en sterilisatiemethoden, het beoogde gebruik en de resultaten van eventuele voorgaande desbetreffende beoordelingen (bijvoorbeeld met betrekking tot natuurkundige, scheikundige of biologische eigenschappen) die zijn uitgevoerd overeenkomstig deze richtlijn.
