Bearing in mind that the euro is rapidly establishing itself as the world’s strongest currency and has now displaced the US dollar as the main denomination for world trade, accounting for 45% of the global market compared to 37% for the dollar, it is becoming increasingly clear that for the UK, staying out means missing out.
In aanmerking genomen dat de euro zichzelf in hoog tempo ontwikkelt tot de sterkste valuta ter wereld en inmiddels de Amerikaanse dollar verdrongen heeft als belangrijkste munteenheid voor de wereldhandel – de euro neemt 45 procent van de wereldmarkt voor zijn rekening, de dollar 37 procent – wordt het in toenemende mate duidelijk dat het VK, als het de boot blijft afhouden, uiteindelijk buiten de boot zal vallen.
