Het Parlement heeft in de afgelopen maanden veel gepresteerd, en daar kunnen we volgens mij wel een beetje trots op zijn, ondanks alle nodige zelfkritiek. We hebben het grote compromis over de dienstenrichtlijn tot stand gebracht en de financiële vooruitzichten goedgekeurd, waar we voor beslissende verbeteringen hebben gezorgd. Er moet echter nog meer gebeuren: bij REACH, de wetgeving inzake chemische stoffen, moeten we ervoor zorgen dat er een evenwicht komt tussen economische en ecologische overwegingen.
