In view of the specific nature of the arms manufacturing industry and the need to integrate it into the defence policies of specific Member States of the European Union and NATO, we need to ensure the technical compatibility of the equipment and communication systems, as well as the proper compatibility of equipment and appliances. We need greater cooperation between individual countries, a properly functioning defence industry and well organised supplies.
Met het oog op het specifieke karakter van de wapenproductie en de noodzaak deze te koppelen aan het defensiebeleid van de afzonderlijke lidstaten van de Europese Unie en de NAVO, moeten we zorgen voor de technische compatibiliteit van materieel en verbindingssystemen en een correct op elkaar afgestemde uitrusting en materieel. Er moet een nauwere samenwerking komen tussen de lidstaten, een goed functionerende defensie-industrie en goed georganiseerde leveranciers.
