Irrespective of Article 20(1), Member States, when deciding on the application for asylum, may take into account the fact that the applicant failed to appear for the personal interview, unless he or she had good reasons for the failure to appear, or that the interview did not take place or was terminated on account of the state of the applicant's psychological and/or physical health .

Onverminderd artikel 20, lid 1, kunnen de lidstaten bij hun beslissing inzake het asielverzoek laten meewegen dat de asielzoeker niet voor het persoonlijk onderhoud is verschenen, tenzij hij daarvoor een geldige reden had, of het onderhoud niets heeft opgeleverd of werd beëindigd als gevolg van de psychologische of fysieke toestand van de asielzoeker .
