The President of the Group, Mr Luc Soete, said that he is hopeful that with the wide range of expertise available in the expert group "we will be able to provide the Commission over the next six months, not just with more food for thought but also with some clear indications of where policy action is needed and, in a number of cases, what sort of policies would seem appropriate".
De voorzitter van de Groep, de heer Luc Soete, zei dat hij hoopt dat met de grote verscheidenheid aan ervaring die in de Groep deskundigen beschikbaar is, zij "in staat zal zijn, de Commissie in de komende zes maanden niet alleen meer stof tot nadenken te geven, maar ook enkele duidelijke aanwijzingen te verschaffen inzake de plaats waar politieke maatregelen noodzakelijk zijn en, in een aantal gevallen, inzake de soort beleidsmaatregelen die passend lijken".
