The resolution acknowledged the content of the ICJ advisory opinion and welcomed the readiness of the European Union to facilitate a process of dialogue between the parties; the process of dialogue in itself would be a factor for peace, security and stability in the region, and that dialogue would be to promote cooperation, achieve progress on the path to the European Union and improve the lives of the people.
De resolutie erkende de inhoud van het advies van het Internationaal Gerechtshof en verwelkomde de bereidheid van de Europese Unie om de dialoog tussen de partijen te faciliteren. Volgens de resolutie is de dialoog een factor voor de vrede, veiligheid en stabiliteit in de regio en dient hij gericht te zijn op samenwerking, vooruitgang op de weg naar de Europese Unie en verbetering van het leven van de bevolking.
