The aid, channelled through the European Community Humanitarian Office under Article 254 of the fourth Lomé Convention, will finance several projects to provide help for such displaced people and has been allocated as follows: 1. Emergency aid totalling ECU 1 million to provide essentials such as blankets, soap, cooking pots, plastic sheeting and jerrycans for some 150 000 displaced Tutsis spread over 60 places in the centre and north of the country (Gitega, Muyinga, Kiremba) and some tens of thousands of Hutus who have fled to the hills.
De hulp van het Bureau voor Humanitaire Hulp van de Europese Gemeenschap, uit hoofde van artikel 254 van de Overeenkomst van Lomé IV, zal worden gebruikt voor de verwezenlijking van verschillende hulpprojecten voor de ontheemden van Boeroendi. 1. Spoedhulp ten belope van 1 miljoen ecu zal worden gebruikt om ongeveer 150.000 Toetsie-vluchtelingen die over 60 centra verdeeld zijn in het midden en het noorden van het land (Gitega, Muyinga, Kiremba), alsook enkele tienduizenden Hoetoes die de heuvels in gevlucht zijn, van levensnoodzakelijke artikelen te voorzien, zoals dekens, zeep, pannen, dekzeilen, jerrycans.
