Considers access to academic literature in the judge's mother tongue to be important for a better understanding of Community law, and notes the apparent scarcity of specialised literature on Community law in certain official languages of the EU, for example concerning private international law issues, and the grave potential consequences this has for the construction of a common legal order reflecting a diversity of legal traditions; therefore calls on the Commission to support the development of such literature, particularly in the less-spoken official languages;
7. vindt toegang tot academische literatuur in de moedertaal van de rechter belangrijk voor een beter begrip van het Gemeenschapsrecht, en merkt de kennelijke schaarste op van specialistische literatuur over het Gemeenschapsrecht in bepaalde officiële talen van de EU, bijvoorbeeld betreffende kwesties inzake het internationaal privaatrecht, alsmede de mogelijk ernstige gevolgen die dat heeft voor de opbouw van een communautaire rechtsorde die de diversiteit aan rechtstradities weerspiegelt; roept de Commissie derhalve op de ontwikkeling te ondersteunen van dat soort literatuur, met name in de minder gesproken officiële talen;
