This Directive updates the common European rules on driving licences (Directive 2006/126/EC) to take into account medical progress on the "obstructive sleep apnoea" (OSA) syndrome and to guarantee that European drivers are trained to safely drive in tunnels.

The second stage has three main complementary objectives: - to continue to improve living standards of smallholders in Osa and Golfito cantons by giving them the technical and financial wherewithal to boost agri-businesses which can be integrated into the country's economy; - to strengthen state land reform programmes in the region to ensure that the recipients remain in workable areas and to ease the pressure on land; - to safeguard the environment, natural resources and protected areas by developing alternative types of farming and environment-friendly techniques.

The CGIAR has been providing financial support for 18 international agricultural research centres since 1990.
