For the purposes of this Directive a Member State may also exercise a power of inspection and detention, in accordance with international law, in relation to a ship which is in waters within its jurisdiction or at, or anchored off, an offshore installation or at any other installation or facility in the waters within its jurisdiction.
Voor de toepassing van deze richtlijn mag een lidstaat tevens een inspectie- en aanhoudingsbevoegdheid uitoefenen, overeenkomstig het internationale recht, met betrekking tot een schip dat zich bevindt in onder zijn jurisdictie vallende wateren dan wel bij, of voor anker ligt bij, een offshore-installatie of enige andere installatie of voorziening in onder zijn jurisdictie vallende wateren.
