The Heads of State and Government adopted the Millennium Declaration and thereby made commitments concerning poverty reduction, protecting our common environment, peace and security, good governance, democratisation and human rights, protection of the most vulnerable sections of the population, the special needs of Africa and strengthening the United Nations.
De staatshoofden en regeringsleiders hebben de Millenniumverklaring goedgekeurd en zich daarbij uitgesproken vóór armoedebestrijding, milieubescherming, vrede en veiligheid, goed bestuur, democratisering en mensenrechten, bescherming van de allerzwaksten, de bijzondere behoeften van Afrika en de versterking van de Verenigde Naties.
