In its resolutions of 6 February 2013 on, respectively, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility: accountable, transparent and responsible business behaviour and sustainable growth’ and ‘Corporate Social Responsibility: promoting society's interests and a route to sustainable and inclusive recovery’, the European Parliament acknowledged the importance of businesses divulging information on sustainability such as social and environmental factors, with a view to identifying sustainability risks and increasing investor and consumer trust.
Het Europees Parlement heeft in zijn respectieve resoluties van 6 februari 2013 over „Maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen: verantwoordelijk en transparant zakelijk gedrag en duurzame groei” en „Maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen: het bevorderen van de belangen in de samenleving en de weg naar duurzaam en inclusief herstel” erkend dat het belangrijk is dat het bedrijfsleven informatie over duurzaamheid, zoals sociale en milieufactoren, verspreidt om de risico's met betrekking tot duurzaamheid aan te duiden en het vertrouwen van investeerders en consumenten te vergroten.
