Madam President, I consider that an anti-drug plan in Afghanistan, consisting in the control of opium quantities by using them to obtain analgesics and other derivatives, might represent one and not the only alternative economic solution and a means of reducing poppy cultivation.
Mevrouw de Voorzitter, ik ben van mening dat een antidrugsplan in Afghanistan, bestaande uit de beheersing van de opiumhoeveelheden door deze te gebruiken voor de productie van pijnstillers en andere derivaten, een maar niet het enige economische alternatief zou kunnen zijn, alsmede een middel om de papaverteelt terug te dringen.
