Op het gebied van de informatiemaatschappij en de media is de aanpassing van de wetgeving vergevorderd en wordt een aanzienlijk deel van het acquis toegepast. De bepalingen van de hervorming van de telecommunicatiesector, de richtlijn inzake audiovisuele mediadiensten en het beleid met betrekking tot de recent goedgekeurde Europese digitale agenda moeten echter nog ten uitvoer worden gelegd.
