Besides, the Commission believes that on such a sensitive subject, which inter alia touches on Member States’ competences, it is necessary to set up an extensive consultation exercise and, above all, to listen to those involved. The Commission is working hard and will continue to work hard on both aspects, first of all by listening to the categories involved, that is to say the judges, the associations and the bodies representing the judiciary in the Member States.
De Commissie is er overigens van overtuigd dat bij zo’n gevoelige materie, die overigens de bevoegdheden van de lidstaten raakt, op brede schaal overleg dient plaats te vinden en vooral de belanghebbenden gehoord moeten worden. De Commissie werkt in beide richtingen, door in de eerste plaats haar oor te luisteren te leggen bij de betrokken categorieën, namelijk de rechterlijke macht, de beroepsorganisaties en de organen die de rechterlijke macht in de lidstaten vertegenwoordigen.
