The Tourism Sustainability Group , which was set up in 2005 and is chaired by the Commission in order to provide input for the Agenda 21 for European tourism, has debated the effect of tourism on the economy, the environment and the quality of life of inhabitants in tourist destinations, but there has been no particular focus on management of “popular” destinations.
