We hebben het dan vooral over: economische en sociale ontwikkeling, ontwikkeling van menselijk kapitaal, steun aan bedrijven (privatisering, investering en ontwikkeling van met name financiële diensten), landbouw en voedingsmiddelensector, energie, transport, toerisme, bescherming van het leefmilieu, regionale samenwerking en monetair beleid In wezen heeft deze economische samenwerking tot doel om bij te dragen tot het proces van hervorming, economisch herstel en duurzame ontwikkeling van de NOS. Economische en sociale hervormingen alsook de herstructurering van de economische en commerciële systemen worden bevorderd.
