In accordance with the subsidiarity principle this report - which was presented to the Transport Council meeting of 30 November 1993 - outlines the measures which should be taken at COMMUNITY LEVEL (for example, EC standards directives on buses, coaches and trains), at NATIONAL or REGIONAL LEVEL (for example, guidelines on the provision of transport information for disabled passengers), and at LOCAL LEVEL (for example, codes of practice for pavements, bus and tram stops, and for the maintenance of lifts, escalators, etc.).
In overeenstemming met het subsidiariteitsbeginsel schetst dit verslag - dat is voorgelegd aan de vergadering van de Vervoerraad van 30 november 1993 - de maatregelen die moeten worden getroffen op COMMUNAUTAIR NIVEAU (bij voorbeeld EG- richtlijnen met normen voor bussen, touringcars en treinen), op NATIONAAL of REGIONAAL NIVEAU (bij voorbeeld richtlijnen over het verstrekken van voorlichting over vervoer voor gehandicapte passagiers) en op PLAATSELIJK NIVEAU (bij voorbeeld voorschriften voor trottoirs, bus- en tramhaltes en voor het onderhoud van liften, roltrappen enz.).
