The projects and programmes to be financed with the support provided by the present Regulation must further Turkey's economic and social development, help to promote the defence of human rights and respect for, and the protection of, the country's minorities, contribute to the reform of its development policies and the restructuring of its institutional and legal framework in order to ensure compliance with these principles.
De projecten en programma's die met de via deze verordening verstrekte financiële steun worden uitgevoerd, moeten bijdragen tot de economische en sociale ontwikkeling van Turkije, de bescherming van de mensenrechten, de eerbiediging en bescherming van de minderheden in het land, de hervorming van het Turkse ontwikkelingsbeleid en tot de herstructurering van het institutionele en juridische kader, teneinde de inachtneming van deze beginselen te verzekeren.
