Noted that the Community since 1990 has committed some €5,8 billion of macro-financial assistance to third countries, mainly the current candidate countries, some other eastern European and Mediterranean countries and the Western Balkans in the form of untied and undesignated balance of payments assistance, or budget support, taking the form of medium and long-term loans or grants or a combination thereof;
heeft er nota van genomen dat de Gemeenschap sinds 1990 aan derde landen, voornamelijk de huidige kandidaat-lidstaten, bepaalde andere landen van Oost-Europa en de Middellandse Zee alsook de Westelijke Balkan, ongeveer 5,8 miljard euro aan macrofinanciële bijstand beschikbaar heeft gesteld in de vorm van ongebonden betalingsbalansbijstand waaraan geen bestemming is gegeven, of budgettaire ondersteuning, door middel van middellange- en langetermijnleningen of giften of een combinatie daarvan;
