Furthermore, the European Union undertakes, within 7 years, in the light of experience acquired and possible declarations of extension made by other Contracting States, to examine the possibility of extending the application of the Convention as a whole to all maintenance obligations arising from a family relationship, parentage, marriage or affinity’.
Voorts verbindt de Europese Unie zich ertoe om, in het licht van de opgedane ervaring en van de eventuele uitbreidingsverklaringen van andere verdragsluitende Staten, uiterlijk over zeven jaar de mogelijkheid te bezien om het toepassingsgebied van het gehele verdrag uit te breiden tot iedere onderhoudsverplichting die voortvloeit uit familiebetrekkingen, bloedverwantschap, huwelijk of aanverwantschap”.
