The event is being organised in collaboration with the ETUC and the Polish Embassy in Belgium, and in cooperation with the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the World Confederation of Labour, to commemorate the 20 anniversary of the founding of Solidarnosc, communist Poland's first independent trade union.
Tijdens deze bijeenkomst zal de oprichting van Solidarnosc, de eerste onafhankelijke vakbond in communistisch Polen, worden herdacht. Voor de organisatie van dit evenement kon het ESC rekenen op de medewerking van het EVV, de Poolse ambassade in België, het Internationaal Verbond van Vrije Vakverenigingen en het Wereldverbond van de Arbeid.
