Al fine di garantire un’attuazione efficace del capitolo su commercio e sviluppo sostenibile, il CESE ritiene fondamentale che le parti tengano conto delle raccomandazioni della società civile fornite dai gruppi consultivi e dal Forum della società civile, dando loro un seguito. Il comitato per il commercio e lo sviluppo sostenibile dovrebbe, entro un termine ragionevole, fornire risposte alle questioni e alle raccomandazioni in materia di commercio e sviluppo sostenibile formulate dai gruppi consultivi.

In order to ensure the effective implementation of the TSD chapter, the EESC considers it paramount that the Parties take into consideration and follow-up the civil society recommendations provided by the DAGs and the CSF. The Committee on Trade and Sustainable Development (CTSD) should respond to the TSD issues and recommendations raised by the DAGs, within a reasonable timeframe.

Il CESE sollecita inoltre che la prassi consolidata di tenere il Forum della società civile in concomitanza con la riunione annuale del comitato per il commercio e lo sviluppo sostenibile diventi una caratteristica permanente accolta da tutte le parti, al pari della partecipazione dei presidenti di entrambi i gruppi consultivi alle riunioni del comitato per il commercio e lo sviluppo sostenibile UE-Corea.
