Vista la velocità con la quale oggi si diffondono le cosiddette "notizie false", non possiamo assolutamente abbassare la guardia di fronte al negazionismo nei confronti dell'Olocausto, in qualsiasi forma si presenti: sia che si tratti del negazionismo "estremo", che pretende che l'Olocausto non sia mai avvenuto - e che la legge considera reato - sia che si tratti di negazionismo "leggero", che si esprime sminuendo l'ampiezza e la profondità del male incarnato dalla Shoah, oppure attraverso la messa in questione del significato dell'Olocausto per il mondo odierno o il tentativo di minimizzarlo citando altre situazioni storiche.
Today, when "fake news" are easily spread, there cannot be any complacency regarding Holocaust denials. This applies regardless of the forms in which they are disguised: whether it is the so called "hard" Holocaust denial, denying that the Holocaust ever happened - criminalized by law - but also the insidious alleged "soft" Holocaust denial, which emerges in the downplaying of the scale and depth of the evil embodied by the Shoah, or the questioning of the relevance of the Holocaust for today's world as well as in the attempts to belittle the Holocaust by pointing to other situations.
