Per quanto concerne la scrapie, nel parere pubblicato il 18 dicembre 2009 l'EFSA ha concluso che i test «Enfer TSE v2», «Enfer TSE v3», «Prionics®-Check LIA SR» e «Prionics®-WB Check Western SR» potrebbero non identificare casi di scrapie atipica che altri test convalidati sarebbero invece in grado di individuare e, conformemente al protocollo dell'EFSA per la valutazione di test diagnostici rapidi post mortem per rilevare la presenza di TSE nei piccoli ruminanti (EFSA, 2007b), non si può raccomandare l'uso di detti test per la sorveglianza della TSE nel settore.
