Nel caso in cui venga rilevata l'infezione da virus dell'influenza aviaria a bassa patogenicità, oppure nel caso di evidenza sierologica di infezione, laddove la presenza del virus non possa essere confermata da prove di isolamento del virus, le misure di lotta dovrebbero essere diverse da quelle che dovrebbero essere applicate a seguito dell'individuazione di un virus dell'influenza aviaria ad alta patogenicità, e ciò in funzione del diverso grado di rischio associato a queste due situazioni.
(13) In the case of detection of infection with low pathogenic avian influenza virus, or in the case of serological evidence of infection, where the presence of the virus cannot be confirmed by virus isolation tests, control measures should differ from those which should apply in the case of detection of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus, taking into account the different levels of risk posed by these two conditions.
