The Court answers that the concept of ‘optional price supplements’ covers costs, connected with the air travel, arising from services – such as flight cancellation insurance – supplied by a party other than the air carrier and charged to the customer by the person selling that travel, together with the air fare, as part of a total price.
Het Hof antwoordt dat het begrip „facultatieve prijstoeslagen” ook betrekking heeft op kosten die in verband met de vliegreis worden gemaakt voor diensten, zoals een vluchtannuleringsverzekering, welke door een andere partij dan de luchtvaartmaatschappij worden aangeboden en door de verkoper van die reis samen met de prijs van de vlucht in de vorm van een totale prijs aan de klant in rekening worden gebracht.
