In a multilingual European Union, this means that: i) everybody should have
the opportunity to communicate appropriately in order to realise his or her potential and make the most of the opportunities offered by the modern and innovative EU; ii) everybody should have access to appropriate language training or to other means of facilitating communication so that there is no undue linguistic obstacle to living, working or communicating in the EU; iii) in the spirit of solidarity, even those who may not be able to learn other languages should be provided with appropriate mean
s of communication, allowing ...[+++] them access to the multilingual environment.
In een meertalige Europese Unie houdt dit in: i) dat iedereen de kans moet krijgen op passende wijze te communiceren om zijn of haar capaciteiten te ontplooien en de kansen die de moderne en innoverende EU biedt, maximaal te benutten; ii) dat iedereen toegang moet hebben tot passende taalopleiding of tot andere middelen die de communicatie bevorderen, zodat er geen onnodige taalbarrières zijn om in de EU te wonen, te werken of te communiceren; iii) dat zelfs wie misschien geen andere talen kan leren, in een geest van solidariteit over passende communicatiemiddelen kan beschikken om toegang te krijgen tot de meertalige omgeving.
