The EDPS appreciates the general attention devoted to data protection in the Communication which emphasises the need to ensure high data quality, data security and data protection and recalls that whatever the combination or sequence used for exchanging information, the rules on data protection, data security and data quality as well as the purpose for which the instruments may be used must be respected.
De EDPS waardeert de algemene aandacht voor gegevensbescherming in de mededeling. Daarin wordt de nadruk gelegd op een hoge gegevenskwaliteit, gegevensbeveiliging en gegevensbescherming en wordt eraan herinnerd dat, ongeacht in welke combinatie of opeenvolging er informatie wordt uitgewisseld, de regels betreffende gegevensbescherming, gegevensbeveiliging en gegevenskwaliteit, alsmede het doel waarvoor de instrumenten worden gebruikt, moeten worden geëerbiedigd.
