Kosovo is part of our continent. It has European prospects, and therefore whatever final resolution the Security Council adopts, we will have certain fundamental obligations: in relation to the office representing the international community in Kosovo; and we will also have a duty, in addition to the economic aspects of which the honourable Members are well aware, a common foreign and security policy duty, a policing and judicial duty, in relation to all aspects of the law and the implementation of the law in Kosovo.
Kosovo ligt op ons continent, het heeft een Europees perspectief, en daarom hebben wij, hoe de resolutie van de Veiligheidsraad er ook uit moge zien, enkele fundamentele plichten, in de eerste plaats met betrekking tot het bureau dat de internationale gemeenschap moet vertegenwoordigen in Kosovo. Daarnaast zullen we, afgezien van de u welbekende economische aspecten, ook taken hebben op het gebied het gemeenschappelijk buitenlands en veiligheidsbeleid en op het gebied van politie en justitie, kortom, bij alles wat te maken heeft met de wet en de wetshandhaving in Kosovo.
