By 1 January 2006, the Commission shall submit to the Council a report, drawn up on the basis of an opinion from the European Food Safety Authority, on the intensive farming system(s) which comply with the requirements of the well-being of calves from the pathological, zootechnical, physiological and behavioural point of view, as well as the socioeconomic implications of different systems, together with proposals relevant to the report’s conclusions.
Uiterlijk op 1 januari 2006 legt de Commissie, in het licht van een advies van de Europese Autoriteit voor voedselveiligheid, aan de Raad een verslag voor over het/de intensieve veehouderijsysteem/-systemen die vanuit pathologisch, zoötechnisch, fysiologisch en gedragswetenschappelijk oogpunt voldoen aan de eisen inzake het welzijn van kalveren, alsmede over de sociaaleconomische implicaties van de verschillende systemen, vergezeld van passende voorstellen waarin met de conclusies van dat verslag rekening wordt gehouden.
