For that reason a compromise was reached which provides for two alternative test cycles to be introduced in tandem from 2006 onwards: alongside the test cycle originally planned, which, in fact, has been developed for motor cars and brought into line with the technical requirements for motorcycles, a second test cycle, tailored to motorcycles, should be introduced as soon as possible. The Commission should draw up a proposal as soon as possible which provides for incorporation of the worldwide test cycle for motorcycles.
Om deze reden werd een compromis bereikt op grond waarvan vanaf 2006 twee alternatieve testcycli gelijktijdig worden ingevoerd: naast de oorspronkelijk geplande testcyclus die eigenlijk voor personenauto's werd ontwikkeld en die aan de technische eisen van de motorfietsen werd aangepast, moet zo spoedig mogelijk een tweede testcyclus speciaal voor motorfietsen worden ingevoerd. De Commissie dient zo spoedig mogelijk een voorstel uit te werken dat voorziet in de opneming van de wereldwijde testcyclus voor motorfietsen.
