Nel follow-up la Commissione si occuperà in particolare delle due principali aree di sviluppo scientifico: in primo luogo, i nuovi test che migliorerebbero o addirittura sostituirebbero i metodi raccomandati, come l’associazione del pap test al test per l’infezione da papilloma virus umano ad alto rischio, altresì detto test HPV; in secondo luogo, i nuovi test per i tumori di altri organi, come il test del PSA per il tumore della prostata.
In the follow-up the Commission will take a particular interest in the two main areas of the scientific developments. First, the new tests which would improve or possibly even replace recommended methods, such as combining the pap test with testing for infection with high-risk human papilloma viruses or in other words, HPV testing, and, second, the new tests for cancers in other organs, such as PSA testing for prostate cancer.
