La probabile fonte di tale pandemia – sarò breve al riguardo perché sono cose note a tutti – sarebbe il virus di influenza aviaria (H5N1) che è altamente patogeno e che, in seguito a mutazioni e ricombinazioni con quello dell’influenza umana, potrebbe produrre un virus altamente infettivo resistente ai vaccini conosciuti, motivo per cui sussiste appunto il rischio di una pandemia.
