The main question, as I see it, is not so much the relationship between the UK and the rest of Europe. Rather it is the interaction between Europe’s single market and its single currency – the market entailing common legislation in many fields and a unified voice on trade, and the currency entailing many things too, in fact, many more than initially foreseen.
