Criticava l'Ungheria e la Commissione per aver raccomandato a quest'ultima di mantenere un tasso di cambio fisso, mentre si è verificato esattamente l'opposto, vale a dire, il tasso di cambio in Ungheria è fluttuante e l’eccessiva volatilità di tale tasso ha aggravato i problemi e ha contribuito a scatenare la crisi, tanto da motivare la richiesta di questi aiuti.
