Under the agreement, which will take effect once the EU formally signs it in the near future, the US will restrict the use of product designations for Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados and Brandy de Jerez to distilled drinks products of EU member states where they originate.
